OU Jiun-You (歐軍佑) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and currently lives and works in Vienna (AT) and Taipei (TW).
After graduating from National Taiwan University (TW) with a BA in Political Science-International Relations, Ou began her mostly self-taught exploration towards raw material-based practices since 2008. While working and teaching in the field of metalsmithing for a few years, her interest in stone led her to move to Germany and begin studying at the Hochschule Trier, Campus Idar-Oberstein (DE) in 2015, and later through the Erasmus exchange at the Estonian Academy of Arts (EE) from 2016 to 2017. Ou obtained her MFA in 2018, and then moved to Karlsruhe (DE) and now Vienna (AT) to continue her intermedia practice. She has received Grassipreis der Carl und Anneliese Goerdeler-Stiftung 2023 (DE), Justus Brinckmann Förderpreis 2022 (DE), Staatspreis für das Kunsthandwerk Rheinland-Pfalz 2022 (DE), TALENTE Prize 2014 (DE), among others. She is also the recipient of the GSSA Scholarship from the Ministry of Education (TW), Deutschlandstipendium (DE), Ariadne Stipendium (DE), Residency Grants from the Ministry of Culture (TW), Annual Regular Grants from the National Foundation for Culture and Art (TW), etc. Her works are in the public collections of the Grassi Museum for Applied Art (DE), the Museum for Arts and Crafts Hamburg (DE), the Taiwan Art Bank (TW), and in private collections mainly in Germany and Taiwan. *complete CV available upon request |
